Which finishes are available?
The current palette contains four finishes: Vintage, Black Walnut, Maple and Natural. Each has its own tonal direction, while surface, edge and solid section remain part of the same material language.

Subtle differences in colour and grain are part of Sumparwood's visual design. Variation is intentional and tolerance is controlled, so the surface can carry natural movement without losing the overall finish direction. Final colour should be confirmed with a physical sample.

A screen can introduce the palette, but it cannot reproduce every viewing condition. A physical sample lets the team compare tone, grain, edge and solid section under its own light and beside the project's other materials.

Review the physical finish under the intended light and beside the relevant stone, metal, textile or planting palette. Record the selected reference and any acceptable variation. Photography should support that decision, not replace it.

Can Sumparwood be cut and shaped?
Sumparwood profiles can be cut, routed, heat-formed and assembled into purposeful furniture components. Tooling, section, radius, joint and finished geometry should be reviewed together for the intended application.

Controlled heat and tooling can move selected profiles beyond straight lines. The useful question is not simply whether a curve is possible, but which profile, radius, tooling route and prototype will resolve it responsibly.

Not automatically. A familiar timber proportion may be a useful starting point, but the component, span, section, joint, hardware and use conditions still need review. Sumparwood should be designed as its own material system rather than treated as a board-for-board substitution.

No. An established profile library provides round, edge and radiused starting points before custom tooling is considered. A team can begin with an existing profile, adapt the direction or develop a profile around the design brief.

Does “made for open air” mean every outdoor environment is the same?
No. Sunlight, wetting, temperature cycles, salt or pool contact, cleaning, shelter, drainage and duty level can create different demands. The intended site and finished construction must be reviewed before a project conclusion is made.

Record the salt or chemical source, direct exposure, wind and shelter, water and debris paths, cleaning routine, hardware, adjacent materials and inspection access. These observations define the evidence request; the words “coastal” or “poolside” do not prove suitability on their own.
Review hardware and drainageDoes a laboratory report guarantee finished-product performance or service life?
No. A report applies to its stated method, specimen, conditioning and measured result. It should not be converted into a finished-product certification, a universal environmental claim or promised years of service unless the document expressly supports that conclusion.

Qualified teams can request the relevant evidence index for their application. The review should identify the method and version, specimen, conditioning, measured result, report date and interpretation limits, then match those details to the selected profile, component and environment.
