Sumparwood

Boscher Workshop / Est. 1998

Invented here. Engineered here. Built here.

Material development and furniture craft stay close enough for the original design intent to survive.

One continuous standard

From material decision to finished form.

When formulation, extrusion, shaping, joinery and finishing share one workshop, difficult silhouettes become practical development conversations. This is the useful difference between a material supplier and a development partner.

Established profile library

A head start on form.

An established extrusion library gives designers a practical place to begin. Round, structural, edge and radiused profiles can be reviewed before custom tooling is considered.

Start from an existing profile. Adapt it. Or develop one around the design.

Form the material

Formulation, extrusion and surface development remain part of one continuous technical conversation.

Join it like furniture

Mortise-and-tenon discipline keeps structure and detail working together.

Shape beyond straight lines

Controlled heat and tooling turn an outdoor material into purposeful curves.

The human standard

The final judgement is still made by hand.

Tools shape the part. Experience decides when a curve sits true, a joint closes cleanly and a finish is ready to leave the bench. Sumparwood is engineered as a material, then held to the discipline of furniture making.

The next generation

Built between generations.

Our fathers began developing Sumparwood in 1999. Today, the four of us bring together design, manufacturing, brand and client partnerships. Each brings a different perspective to the work we carry forward.

Development partnership

Start with one real detail.

Bring an arm, rail, leg or frame detail. We will help assess the profile, forming route and finish direction around it.
